Through a new research project ‘Your Services Your Say’ – Stonewall Scotland are building a picture of <a class="glossaryLink" href="http://www.lanarkshiresexualhealth.org/?s=LGBT" title="Glossary: LGBT" onmouseover="tooltip.show('
Lesbian Gay Bisexual or Transgender (or alternatively Transsexual)
');" onmouseout="tooltip.hide();">LGBT people’s expectations and experiences of accessing vital services such as the NHS, Fire and Rescue Services, the Police and Local Councils.

The new research will help improve local services for LGBT people and so your experiences and expectations are really important. The survey is anonymous and should take no longer than ten minutes. You can complete the survey at:

www.stonewallscotland.org.uk/yourservicesyoursay

Stonewall Scotland have asked if you could please publicise this to your LGBT friends, family and colleagues and if you could publicise it on Facebook and Twitter if you have them using the hash tag #YourSay and the above link.

Stonewall Scotland know that access to vital public services is fundamental to improving life chances, as well as those of family, friends and the wider community. Stonewall Scotland want to know why so many LGBT people face barriers to accessing these services. Their 2008 research Service With a Smile identified major barriers to LGBT people when it came to accessing these integral services and now want to see how this has changed.

For more information please contact:

The only way most of us can begin to understand is through listening to people who live with it every day.

Launched on World <a class="glossaryLink" href="http://www.lanarkshiresexualhealth.org/?s=AIDS" title="Glossary: AIDS" onmouseover="tooltip.show('
AIDS stands for Acquired Immune Deficiency Syndrome.
');" onmouseout="tooltip.hide();">AIDS Day (Saturday 1st December) is ‘Always Hear’ Waverley Care’s new HIV awareness campaign. The campaign gives a voice to people living with HIV in Scotland using four films to capture the experiences of four people who are HIV positive. They are true stories, told by the people themselves.

Supporting the films are HIV information sheets covering HIV Basics, HIV Statistics, HIV Stigma and HIV Myths. More detailed resources are also available for schools and churches. The school and youth group resources are linked to Curriculum for Excellence and produced in association with Education Scotland.

‘Always Hear’ aims to get the truth and information out there about HIV in Scotland; to make everyone aware of HIV and put a stop to stigma and discrimination.
