Health Improvement Team
The Blood Borne Virus and Sexual Health Improvement Team are based at Beckford Street in Hamilton but covers and supports both North and South Lanarkshire areas. In addition to delivering the condom distribution schemes, we also offer training in topics such as:
- Sexual Health and Relationships Education training
- Blood Borne Virus training
- Gender training
- Specific teacher training
- Specific foster carer training
- Bespoke training to fit the needs of your service

Health Improvement Library
The NHS Lanarkshire Health Improvement Library has an online ordering system where you can search for and order resources to borrow and can be used by anyone living or working in the Lanarkshire area. This includes items such as leaflets, posters, teaching kits, displays, models, DVDs and games.
External e-Learning
The Scottish Drugs Forum (SDF) currently offer a wide range of free e-learning sessions, related to BBVs and Sexual Health as well as wider topics around drugs, alcohol and overdose.
SWIRL Scotland
Sexual Wellbeing Image Resource Library (SWIRL) Scotland – a tool to support the development of accessible and Easy Read sexual health and wellbeing information. The library has over 600 images arranged into topics which are free to download and use for educational purposes.
Its aims are:
- to be inclusive and representative of disability, sexuality, gender, body types, race and ethnicity and
- to support practitioners to develop sexual health and wellbeing information and educational resources, particularly for those with learning disabilities or other communication barriers.
